Tidewater Women is a free monthly print magazine distributed
in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, and Suffolk. With such a
targeted readership, Tidewater Women is the perfect place to advertise
businesses whose clients are women. Advertising rates are very affordable, and
since each issue of Tidewater Women has a shelf life of a month or more,
advertisers get good value for their marketing dollars.
Tidewater Women has a current circulation of 24,000 with an
estimated pass-along readership of 36,000+. The magazine is distributed in more
than 750 locations in the Southside cities. It features articles of interest to
women on topics such as health, family, business, careers, education, travel,
and much more.
Tidewater Women is published by Windmill Promotions, Inc.,
owned by Peggy and Peter Sijswerda. Peggy has been in the publishing business
since 1990, when she and Peter began publishing Tidewater Parent. In 1997, they
sold Tidewater Parent to the parent company of The Virginian-Pilot. It didn't
take long for Peggy to realize she missed publishing, however, so in 1999 she
began publishing Tidewater Women.
“Area women love having a magazine that‘s just for them,“
said Peggy. “Our
readership falls mainly between ages 30 and 55, a period when women begin seeking
ways to live life to the fullest.”
Tidewater Women regularly publishes resource guides, which
contain useful information about area businesses which cater to women. A
special advertising section that has proven quite popular among both readers
and advertisers is the Women in Business section published twice a year in
January and July. In an advertorial format, women can tell the story behind
their business in a professionally written 250-word article accompanied by a
photograph and contact information.
Subscriptions are available for Tidewater Women at $15 per
year (12 issues). Just mail your check to the address below and indicate which
month you'd like your subscription to begin.
