Check Your Celebrity I.D. Please
- Written by Nikki Curry
Do you have a great celebrity I.D. or fame name?
What is your celebrity or fame name that helps people remember you? Does it show up in your target market or industry? If your gut tells you your name is not showing up in your industry or as powerfully as you think it should be, you have work to do.
First, what is a celebrity I.D or fame name? A celeb I.D. is a personal headline that gets attention that makes people want to get to know you and what you do. It is the same magic popular magazines and newspapers use for headlines. In fact, this can be your hook to make people Google you to find out more about you.
Here are three ways to create your celebrity I.D. and fame name:
•Your celebrity I.D. must be memorable. It must be easy to remember and it must stand out because it is so memorable. It needs to be short enough to remember, but not turn into a cute little nickname. For example, I may not remember your birth name, but I remember your celebrity name. Therefore, I can easily go to Google, punch your celebrity name in, and find you. (For example: Unemployed Entrepreneur, Idea Ignitor, and Pink Slip Entrepreneur… and my favorite “Brand Definer.” Sorry, I could not resist.)
•Your celebrity I.D. should position you in your market. It must tell your audience immediately who you are and where you are in the market. Are you the person we want to learn from, work with, and invest in your programs? Having a celebrity I.D. will attract clients to you, which in turn makes your job easier.
•Your celebrity I.D. should define what you do. It has to catch your industry prospect’s attention quickly. It should allow you to stand in your spotlight because it suggests the transformation you intend to provide for your ideal prospects. You have to use words that will trigger something in your prospect’s mind. You want your prospect to think of you to solve their problems.
Remember your celebrity I.D. must convey who you are and what makes you sparkle in your industry. The celebrity I.D. or fame name you choose to use will announce to the world how you show up in your market.
