Meet Peggy & Peter Sijswerda, Locals Like You!

Tidewater Women is published by Windmill Promotions, Inc., owned by Peggy and Peter Sijswerda. Peggy has been in the publishing business since 1990, when she and Peter began publishing Tidewater Parent. In 1997, they sold Tidewater Parent to the parent company of The Virginian-Pilot. It didn’t take long for Peggy to realize she missed publishing, however, so in 1999 she began publishing Tidewater Women. It’s been a labor of love ever since.

“Area women love having a magazine that’s just for them,” said Peggy. “We love helping women of all ages discover new ways to live life to the fullest.”

In 2013, Peggy and Peter began publishing a sister magazine, Tidewater Family, which offers advertising and resources for parents of kids from birth through high school.

Ideal for Marketing Hampton Roads Businesses

Tidewater Women regularly publishes resource guides, which contain useful information about area businesses that cater to women. A special advertising section that has proven quite popular among both readers and advertisers is the Women in Business section published twice a year in January and July. In an advertorial format, women can tell the story behind their business in a professionally written 250-word article accompanied by a photograph and contact information.

A similar option is our Getting To Know You advertorial available any time of the year! We also offer our special Women in Health advertorials four times a year: March, June, October, and December.
