Last Chance to See Elvis and the Mummy

If you’re heading to Richmond, stop in the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts for their blockbuster exhibits: Elvis at 21 and Mummy: Secrets of the Tomb. The Elvis exhibit features 56 dramatic black-and-white photos of Elvis at age 21 shot by Alfred Wertheimer, each portraying Elvis in a new light. Mummy: Secrets of the Tomb begins with a 3D film that focuses on the life and death of Nesperennub, a temple priest who lived 3000 years ago. After the film, visitors can view Nesperennub’s mummy, coffin, and 100 objects related to Egyptian society and its funerary rituals. Plan to dine in Amuse, VMFA’s fine dining restaurant—open for lunch daily, brunch on Sundays, and dinner Thursdays and Fridays. For more information, visit www.vfma.museum.
