Have you ever made a rash decision and then wondered about it afterwards? Who hasn’t? Jumping in headfirst must be in our DNA. It’s what we humans do. My friend, Gini, likes to quote a line from the Talking Heads song “Once in a Lifetime” that says simply, “My God! What have I done?”
Sometimes we make decisions after weighing the pros and cons carefully. But all this contemplation doesn’t necessarily mean we make the right decision, does it? In fact, sometimes we spend so much time thinking about things, we let opportunities pass us by.
Other times we make decisions based on our gut instinct. Something tells us this is what we should do. There are many wise people who say we should pay more attention to our gut feelings. Too often we lose touch with that part of us that knows what’s right and what’s wrong.
Recently I made a decision to start another magazine. It’ll be called Tidewater Family. You can read more about it on page eight. When I found out that the publishers of Tidewater Parent chose to suspend its print edition, I decided to fill the void. I feel in my gut that this area still needs a magazine for parents, who after all need a lot of help raising kids in this ever-changing world we live in.
With your help we can create another magazine full of great content, ads, and resources for Tidewater families.
And the next time you have to make a decision, trust that little voice inside of you who really knows who you are. Together you’ll make the right decision.
P.S. September is my favorite month! It’s the perfect time to get out and enjoy nature. Make a date with yourself to go sit on the beach, feel the breeze, and listen to the sound of the waves and the seagulls. There’s something so soothing about the shore. So, what are you waiting for?
